Charity Frock Swap

Over the last few weeks I have been busy filling my house with racks of clothes ready for a charity frock swap I arranged for Sunday 16 September.
Guests are asked to give 5 items of clothes and pay £6 for a ticket - then on the day they get to come along and choose 5 new items to take away. We had clothes, bags, shoes, scarves, jewellery and even some very retro glasses!
I organised a raffle too, with some nice goodies like a free haircut, champagne and chocolates.
Although I was a bit frazzled in the last few days before the event it ended up being a brilliant afternoon. Mum had decided to come to Cardiff for it and very kindly bought lots of wine - and my friend Ross had baked some lovely cupcakes.
In the end I think we had just over 30 people there - and most importantly we raised £303.50. Not bad for two hours on a Sunday afternoon!
It was nice to tell people about Dad, and why my family and I want to raise money for the British Lung Foundation. I think having something positive to work towards is a good way to help get through some of the harder days.
I'll upload some pictures soon!
